The Village of Arlington
Heights is accepting
applications for a temporary
Intern position in the
Finance Department.
Primary duties include
maintaining computerized
fixed asset records
including physical
inventories and policy
documentation. Additional
responsibilities may include
assisting in the preparation
of the Village's
Comprehensive Annual Finance
Report and interaction with
the Village's external
auditors during fieldwork.
Occasionally, this position
could receive assignments in
the Accounts Receivable,
Accounts Payable, and
Purchasing Divisions.
The successful candidate
will be a self-motivated,
detail-orientated individual
who is interested in gaining
hands on experience and
training in governmental
accounting. Applicant
should possess or be in the
process of obtaining a
Bachelors or Masters Degree
in Accounting, Finance,
Public Administration or
Business Administration and
have completed two college
level accounting courses.
Candidate should possess
basic computer skills in
Microsoft Office and be able
to operate various office
equipment. Excellent oral
and written skills are
required.

Department
The Village
of Arlington Heights is

the position of Custodian in
the Public Works Department.
Responsibilities include but
are not limited to ensuring
Village buildings are
cleaned and maintained with
adequate supplies and ready
for daily operation.
Requirements
include
High School
diploma or equivalent with 2
or more years experience in
custodial work or an
equivalent combination of
education and experience
sufficient to successfully
perform the essential duties
of the job. The work hours
are 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
Additional Requirement:
Valid Illinois Drivers
License.
Minimum
starting salary for this
position is $38,391.

6 day on and 3 day off

Qualifications:

Associate Degree or 60
semester hours of credit
from an accredited
institution.

Valid Driver’s License.

Vision correctable to
20/20 in both eyes.

Pass medical exam
including drug
screening.

Previous status as a
certified Police Officer
in the State of Illinois
for one year after
completion of a
probationary period.

Currently in good
standing in the police
department in which the
person serves.

Possess substantially
equivalent skills and
abilities as a Village
of Arlington Heights
Police Officer who has
completed the
probationary period, as
determined by the
Village and,
-
Taken and passed such
examinations as the
Commission deems
necessary to determine
fitness for duty as a
police officer.
