HOME VISITS  :BACK TO TOP:
Nursing Services provides home visits to our homebound residents who do not qualify for Home Health Care. The nursing staff visits 180-200 patients per month. The monthly visits can include lab draws or anticoagulant checks via the coagucheck machine. Staff also will fill insulin syringes or pillboxes for those unable to do so themselves, administer injections, as well as make physical assessments for instability. Referrals usually come from a home care agency, a doctor, family members or the residents themselves. Occasionally a resident may need to be seen more often, but on a temporary basis only. When necessary, a referral is made to Home Health, Catholic Charities or Kenneth Young for social service support.
