Day Care License
In-home Day Care can only be in a detached single family residence and requires a license from the
Department of Children and Family Services. The day care facility can receive no more than 8 children for care during the day. The maximum of 8 children includes the family’s natural or adopted children under age 16 and those children who are in the home under full-time care. Applicant must notify neighbors on both sides, in front and behind their home of their intention to open a day care. This notification must be in writing and should be forwarded to the Village.
Commercial Day Care requires a Special Use in the district that it is permitted from the
Planning and Community Development Department. Commercial Day Care also requires a license from the Department of Children and Family Services.
