Food and Beverage Tax
The Village of Arlington Heights imposes a one and one quarter percent tax on the sale of prepared food and beverages. This is in addition to existing Federal and State taxes. All retail businesses are required to summit a completed Prepared Food and Liquor Tax Questionnaire, found in our document center, prior to the opening of a business.
For further information, please read Chapter 11, Article VIII of the Arlington Heights Municipal Code regarding Food & Beverage Taxes.
Prepared Food and Beverage Taxes are due monthly. Payment must be made to the Village by the 20th of each month for the preceding month. Payment received after the due date will be charged a late penalty of 10% of the unpaid tax per month.
When making your payment, please attach a copy of your Illinois Department of Revenue form ST-1 and your check payable to the Village of Arlington Heights along with your Prepared Food and Beverage Tax Return, found in our document center.
If you have any questions regarding the Village of Arlington Heights’ Food & Beverage Tax, please contact the Finance Department at 847/368-5501.
