About the Health Services Department
Disability Services:
The Disability Services division is committed to ensuring that residents and visitors with disabilities can enjoy the community equally and are afforded an equal opportunity to participate in Village programs, services, and communications.
Environmental Health:
Environmental Health is the division responsible for the Food Service Program, Community Environmental Health (CEH), Recreational Programs, Day Care Inspections, Construction and Licensing. The CEH staff manages the recycling program, yard waste disposal program, and refuse removal program. The Environmental Health staff works with the citizens of our community in an effort to maintain an environment that provides optimum health, safety, comfort and well being, now and for future generations.
Human Services:
The Human Services division is concerned with the general social needs of the community and its citizens. The Human Services program frequently requires the combined and coordinated efforts and resources of various Health Services staff.
Nursing Services:
Nursing Services have been offered through the Village since the 1930s. Now in the year 2009, there are 2 full-time nurses who are responsible for overseeing various health clinics and screenings throughout the year. They also provide home visits to homebound residents unable to qualify for Home Health Care. The nursing staff visits 200+ homebound patients per month. They also facilitate and assist in education health programs.
Senior Center:
The Senior Center is located at 1801 W. Central Road and is a center of fun and activity for residents age 55 and over. The Center is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30am - 8:30pm; Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30am - 4:30 pm; and Saturday mornings from 8:30am - 12:30pm. The Senior Center has 500-600 seniors visit each day!
