The Village of Arlington Heights has several industrial parks. The office and industrial areas are concentrated on the far south end of the community, at Arlington Heights Road and Interstate Highway 90, and at the far north end of town, east of Illinois Highway 53 between Dundee and Lake-Cook Roads. The Village is one of the largest Chicago suburbs with a population of over 76,000 persons. The Village is located along Illinois Route 53 and Interstate 90, just 8 miles northwest of Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Some of the major employers in the Village include, Paddock Publications, Nokia Siemens, Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Park Racecourse, and many other quality corporations. Employment in the Village totals nearly 50,000. The Village has six interchanges along Route 53 and one along Interstate 90 (Northwest Tollway). There is a full interchange at the Northwest Tollway and Arlington Heights Road, which is the only full interchange between I-290 and I-294 (O’Hare Airport). Interstate 294 is just 8 miles to the southeast of Arlington Heights via Interstate 90. The Village is also serviced by the Union Pacific (Metra) commuter rail system by two local stops, and by the suburban bus system PACE.
