About the Village Manager's Office
The Village Manager oversees the preparation of Village Board agendas and communications. The staff of the Village Manager’s Office handles internal and external communications, liquor licensing, and provides professional support to the Manager, Village Board and Village Departments.
A key responsibility of the Village Manager is developing the Village’s annual budget and the annual five-year capital improvements budget for the Village Board’s consideration and enactment.
The Manager appoints, suspends or removes all employees of the Village of Arlington Heights, including Department Heads. The Village Manager does not appoint Patrol Officers and Sergeants in the Police Department nor Firefighters and Lieutenants in the Fire Department. Those positions are appointed by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
