Q: How do I dispose of latex paint?

A: If you reside in a single-family home, you may dry out latex paint and leave it at the curb (with the lid removed) for collection by Groot. Kittly litter or commerical paint hardener can be added to paint to speed the drying process.

If you live in a multi-family dwelling, you need to ask your landlord or association.

Q: My power was off for several hours. How do I know if the food in my refrigerator and freezer is safe to eat?

A: It depends on how long the power was off and whether you opened the refrigerator or freezer doors after your power was lost.  Most refrigerators and freezers not opened will maintain temperature for quite some time.  Refrigerators can usually maintain a safe temperature for 8-12 hours; while freezers, if kept closed, can maintain a safe temperature for 24-48 hours.  If the refrigerator or freezers have been opened, much of the temperature holding capacity has been lost.  "When in doubt, throw it out!"
