
About Bids & Request for Proposals
The Purchasing Division provides a fair and competitive process for the acquisition of goods and services for the Village. This division processes all purchase orders. All bids and RFP's (Request for Proposals) are issued and administered through the Purchasing Division. Purchases of less than $10,000 are made in accordance with established procedures for small dollar purchases and informal quotations. Purchases in excess of $10,000 are subject to formal bidding procedures.
Vendors may complete a Vendor Application form in order to receive notice from the Village of upcoming bids/proposals. Completed forms can faxed or mailed to the Purchasing Division. Vendors can view "Doing Business in Arlington Heights", a PDF guide outlining general procurement information for doing business with the Village of Arlington Heights.
Visits by sales representatives are welcomed. It is recommended that an appointment is scheduled in order to productively utilize both the Purchasing Assistant's and salesperson's time. Appointments can be made by calling Paula Kereluk, Purchasing Assistant at 847.368.5505.

2012 WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
The Village of Arlington Heights, Illinois does hereby invite sealed bids for the “2012 Water System Improvements”.
The Village of Arlington Heights will receive sealed bids for the “2012 Water System Improvements” at the Municipal Building, Purchasing Department, 33 South Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois until 11:00 A.M., February 14, 2012 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The proposed work is officially known as the “2012 Water System Improvements” and consists of the following major items of work (Quantities are approximate):
- BASE BID:
Replace approximately 1,987 l.f. of 6” water main with new 8”, Class 52, D.I.P. with polyethylene encasement, new valves, remove and replace fire hydrants, re-connect house services, 1,100 s.y of pavement patching, and all other appurtenant construction on Reuter Drive.
- ADDITIVE ALTERNATE #1:
Replace approximately 718 l.f. of 6” water main with new 6”, Class 52, D.I.P. with polyethylene encasement, new valves, remove and replace fire hydrant, re-connect house services, 3,600 s.f. of sidewalk removal and replacement, and all other appurtenant construction on Dale Avenue.
- ADDITIVE ALTERNATE #2:
Replace approximately 311 l.f. of 6” water main with new 6”, Class 52, D.I.P. with polyethylene encasement, new valves, remove and replace fire hydrant, re-connect house services, pavement patching, and all other appurtenant construction on Brookwood Drive.
Specifications and plans may be picked up for a non-refundable fee of $35.00 at the Village of Arlington Heights Municipal Building, Purchasing Department, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois, weekdays 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 10% of the total bid in the form of a bid bond, certified check, bank draft or cashiers check made payable to the Village of Arlington Heights. No bids shall be considered unless accompanied by such security.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price in accordance with the provisions stated in the Instructions to Bidders.
The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals, to waive informalities in bidding and to accept the proposal deemed by the Board of Trustees to be the most favorable to the interests of the Village. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the written consent of the Village Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Arlington Heights. The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding.
This contract calls for the construction of a “public work,” within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.05 et seq. (“the Act”). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the “prevailing rate of wages” (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed.
SUBMERSIBLE STORMWATER PUMP & ACCESSORIES
Sealed proposals for a Submersible Stormwater Pump & Accessories will be received by the Village of Arlington Heights, at 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois, 60005 and will be publicly opened at 11:00 a.m. local time on February 22, 2012.
The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals, or to waive any technicalities, discrepancies, or information in the bids and to accept the bid deemed by the Board of Trustees to be the most favorable to the interests of the Village.
