Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission

Intent and Purpose

The Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission shall assist in the development of comprehensive plans for bikeways within the Village.

The Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission consists of seven members, residents of the Village, appointed by the Village President with consent of the Village Board to three-year terms. Members of the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission are:
  • Peter Szabo, Chair
  • Michael Walczak
  • Alan Medsker
  • Paul Danko
  • Juergen Juffa
  • Dr. Michael Bagby, D.C.
The Administrative Liaison for the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission is a member of the Engineering Department, 847/368-5250.

Meetings & Quorum
Regular meetings of the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission are held on the call of the Chair. Four members constitute a quorum.

Bike Arlington Heights Saturday,  May 28, 2016

On Saturday, May 28 , join local cyclists for a 15 mile (or a four mile "starter loop") bike tour of Arlington Heights. Riders will leave from North School Park at 9:15am with route guidance from members of the BPAC and the AHPD bike patrol. To participate, please register using the links below. Day-of registration will open at 8:00am the morning of the ride.
Between 8 and 9am, those who have registered will have the opportunity to have their bicycle checked over by a bicycle mechanic and enjoy some stretching and other activities. Fresh fruit and granola bars provided; please bring a refillable water bottle. All riders are asked to wear a helmet and to be familiar with rules of the road and basic bicycle operation.
