Free shopper parking time limits in Village garages is being extended by one hour to 4-hour time limits, and a new $15 monthly parking permit for specially designated Daily Fee areas are now available to people who work Downtown.

 

The new parking regulations were recently approved by the Arlington Heights Village Board to improve the availability of on-street shopper parking in the Downtown. Free, on-street parking spaces will continue to have a 2-hour limit from 5 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

 

There are no time limits for on-street parking in the Downtown after 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, or all day on Sunday. No parking is allowed on any Village streets between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.  

 

If visitors to Downtown believe they may spend longer than 2 hours shopping or frequenting several Downtown businesses, they should consider using the 4-hour free shopper parking in the garages, or consider parking in the Daily Fee parking spaces in the Village garages and commuter lots. The Daily Fee spaces cost $1.50 for an entire day.

 

Daily Fee parking spaces are free after Noon on weekdays and all day on weekends. 34 more Daily Fee parking spaces have been recently added to the ramp leading to the top floor of the Municipal Parking Garage, located adjacent to Village Hall at Sigwalt and Arlington Heights Road. 

 

The $30 Merchant Permit for parking in “Permit Parking” spaces in the Vail Garage, North Garage and Evergreen Garage are also available. The new Discount Merchant permit can only be used in “Daily Fee” spaces, not in the “Permit Parking” spaces.

 

Workers in the Downtown can purchase their $15 Discounted Merchant Permits at the Finance Department’s front counter located on the first floor of Village Hall, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on weekdays. Proof of employment at a Downtown store or business will be required.
