Flooding: An Overview

When heavy thunderstorms hit, winter snow melts, or we have a record rainfall, flooding of roadways, parkways, backyards, overflow of retention basins and parking lots can be expected throughout the Village.

If stormy weather is forecasted, it’s important for residents to monitor the weather on TV or radio and to take preventative steps to help keep water out of your home in the case of heavy rainfall.

This website section will also explain different ways water can get into a home, outline things that the Village does to keep sewer systems and water retention areas maintained, and how we can work together to better protect homes from flooding.
