The Village's Human Resources Department issues all notices and publications for employment opportunities for the Village of Arlington Heights.  These opportunities include internships, seasonal/temporary work, as well as full and part-time employment. 

The Village employment applications for Full & Part-time work, Seasonal work & Internships and for Certified Police Officers are available in our Document Center or in the Human Resources Department.  Please note that there are three distinct applications; one for permanent full and part-time positions; one for seasonal, temporary and internship positions; and one for certified Police Officers.  These applications cannot be accepted for Entry Level Firefighter or Entry Level Police positions.  To apply in person, please visit Human Resources, located on the 3rd floor of Village Hall at 33 S. INTERN : HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
The Village of Arlington Heights is seeking candidates for the temporary position of Intern in the Human Resources Department.

The Intern will be exposed to all of the functions of the Human Resources Department including benefits, recruitment, pre-employment testing, survey and questionnaire creation, and Human Resources Information Systems.

Applicants should be in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or equivalent.

Qualifications include one year of office experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and planning and organizational skills.

Hours for this position will be 15 hours a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) $11.00 hourly rate.

CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER
The Village of Arlington Heights population 75,101 is looking for certified applicants to complement our Police Department. The Police Department has 109 Sworn Personnel. Officers work a 6 day on and 3 day off schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or 60 semester hours of credit from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes.
  • Pass medical exam including drug screening.
  • Previous status as a certified Police Officer in the State of Illinois for one year after completion of a probationary period. Currently in good standing in the police department in which the person serves.
  • Possess substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a Village of Arlington Heights Police Officer who has completed the probationary period, as determined by the Village, and taken and passed such examinations as the Commission deems necessary to determine fitness for duty as a police officer.
