2023pressreleasedrivesoberArlington Heights Police have announced the results of their 2022 Holiday Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign, which took place from Dec. 16 through Jan. 2. During this time, officers conducted saturation patrols and initiated the following enforcement actions:

1 - Aggravated Driving Under the Influence arrest (Alcohol)
1 - Driving Under the Influence arrest (Alcohol)
1 - Seat Belt Citation 
1 - Speeding Citations (Speed in excess over 32 mph over posted limit)
3 - Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle 
8 - Distracted Driving Citation
5 - Registration Citations
25 - Improper Lighting Citations
9 - Other Equipment Citations

Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more people buckled up.

During the mobilization, extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.
The holiday enforcement effort is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
