Northpoint Storm Sewer Replacement

The Village of Arlington Heights will receive sealed bids for the “Northpoint Storm Sewer Replacement" at the Municipal Building, Purchasing Department, 33 South Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois on February 4, 2020 until 11:00 A.M., at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed work is officially known as the “Northpoint Storm Sewer Replacement" and consists of the following major items of work (Quantities are approximate):

Base Bid:  
Replace approximately 288 l.f. of storm sewer with new 24”x 38” elliptical RCP storm sewer, trench backfill, and all other appurtenant construction at the Northpoint Shopping Center.

Additive Alternate: 
Replace approximately 72 l.f. of storm sewer with new 24”x 38” elliptical RCP storm sewer, tree removal, sidewalk and curb replacement and all other appurtenant construction at the Northpoint Shopping Center.

Specifications and plans may be picked up for a non-refundable fee of $35.00 at the Village of Arlington Heights Municipal Building, Purchasing Department, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois, weekdays 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Bids are to be submitted on the forms furnished with the contract document books, properly executed in accordance with the directions contained in the Instructions to Bidders.

All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 10% of the total bid in the form of a bid bond, certified check, bank draft or cashier’s check made payable to the Village of Arlington Heights. No bids shall be considered unless accompanied by such security.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price in accordance with the provisions stated in the Instructions to Bidders.

The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals, to waive informalities in bidding and to accept the proposal deemed by the Board of Trustees to be the most favorable to the interests of the Village. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the written consent of the Village Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Arlington Heights. The Village of Arlington Heights reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. This contract calls for the construction of a “public work,” within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.05 et seq. (“the Act”). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the “prevailing rate of wages” (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed.
