The refuse collection schedule changes for the week of December 23 and December 30 due to the upcoming holidays.

Due to the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 collection services will change for single-family residents served by Groot, the Village of Arlington Heights’ service provider.

Collection services during the week of December 23 - 27 will change to the following:

  • If your primary day is Monday – your garbage and recycling will be picked up on Monday, December 23.
  • If your primary day is Tuesday – your garbage and recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, December 24.

  • If your primary day is Thursday – your garbage and recycling will be picked up on Friday, December 27.

  • If your primary day is Friday – your garbage and recycling will be picked up on Saturday, December 28.

Collection of Christmas Trees: Christmas trees will be collected on your primary solid waste collection day from December 30th through January 10th. Landscape waste stickers are not necessary for Christmas trees. Plastic bags must be removed from Christmas trees. Garlands and wreaths can be disposed of as refuse, no yardwaste sticker is needed.

Collection Schedule Changes for New Year's holiday
Due to the New Year’s Day holiday on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 collection services will change for single-family residents served by Groot, the Village of Arlington Heights’ service provider.

Collection services during the week of December 30 – January 3 will change to the following:

  • If your primary day is Monday – your garbage, and recycling will be picked up on Monday, December 30.

  • If your primary day is Tuesday – your garbage, and recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, December 31.

  • If your primary day is Thursday – your garbage and will be picked up on Friday, January 3.

  • If your primary day is Friday – your garbage and recycling will be picked up on Saturday, January 4.
