On Saturday, October 8, 2022, the Village of Arlington Heights will host a Document Destruction Recycling Event at Arlington Park, 2200 West Euclid Avenue, from 9 a.m.-12p.m. Residents from Arlington Heights and other SWANCC communities are eligible to participate.  Materials will not be accepted from non-SWANCC residents, businesses, schools, or institutions, and IDs will be checked for verification of residency

All participants must follow these Safety Guidelines: 
▪ Residents must remain in their vehicle.
▪ Residents are asked to unlock/open the trunk to allow staff to unload the items.
▪ Paper documents should be contained in one area in the back of vehicle in paper bags or small boxes – not in plastic bags!  Boxes will be returned to the resident.

About Paper: 
Residents will be limited to six (6) file-sized boxes or paper bags of documents containing personal information, such as medical history forms, bank statements, personal files and retired tax forms.  Paper documents will be shredded on site.  Bales of shredded paper will be transported to mills to make new paper products.  

How to Prepare Paper:
1. Paper must be clean, dry, and loose
2. Remove plastic sleeves/spines/covers
3. Remove metal clips (staples are ok).  
4. Place paper in a small box or paper shopping bags
5. DON’T bring paper in plastic bags.  
6. DON’T include photos, slides, negatives, books, store receipts, magazines, greeting cards or newspapers or any non-paper item.
