Under general supervision, performs inspections for various construction projects within the Village boundary to ensure the projects are done in accordance with approved plans and specifications and that Village Code is enforced. This involves the knowledge of proper construction techniques and Civil Engineering concepts.
Performs and coordinates construction inspections of subdivision or site development and public works projects including sanitary sewers, storm sewers, detention areas, water mains, streets, curbs and gutters, and sidewalks to verify compliance with contract documents and Village Code. Establishes line and grade for public construction projects. Performs pre-construction and final inspections of driveways, business sites, public improvements and single family home sites. Investigates questions and complaints from the public and resolves concerns as necessary.
Qualifications include an Associates Degree in Engineering Science and four or more years’ of various types of construction inspection experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. A valid Illinois Driver's License required.
Starting salary is $84,820-$94,597 DOQ. Includes excellent benefits package.

Superintendent of Utilities | Public Works Department

Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, and reviewing the work of a multi-function Division including water distribution, sewer, water production, water meter, and traffic units. Assists in the preparation and presentation of the annual budget for operations and capital accounts and provides reports to the Director, Village Manager and Board of Trustees.
Minimum job requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree and six years of progressively responsible experience in Public Works or utilities, extensive experience in water distribution systems and sanitary and storm water management including five years supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional requirements: A Valid Illinois Driver's License and a State of Illinois class “A” potable water operator’s license or ability to obtain within first year of employment. Required to respond to major emergency call outs.
Starting salary is $109,000-$130,000 DOQ. Includes excellent benefits package.

Purchasing Coordinator | Finance Department
The Village of Arlington Heights, Illinois, is one of the largest Chicago suburbs with a population of 75,100. The Village is accepting applications for the position of Purchasing Coordinator in the Finance Department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting departments with the procurement of goods and services in accordance with established legal requirements and Village policy. Develops the bid package and legal notice of the bid for publication and administers the bid process. Maintains a central office supply system for various items by maintaining inventories of office supplies and records of disbursement. Analyzes and processes requisitions from all departments ensuring compliance with Village budget, procedures and state statutes. Preferred candidate will have governmental purchasing experience. Must be able to move up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
This position requires an Associate’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and at least four years’ experience in purchasing or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Must attain and maintain the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification within one year of hire.
Starting salary is $78,000-$90,430 DOQ. Includes excellent benefits package.
