Landscape Waste Programs

The 2021 Landscape waste collection season is April 1  through December 14. Residents have several options regarding the disposal of landscape waste. Groot offers using the Landscape Sticker Program, participating in the Landscape Waste Subscription Program, or the Landscape Waste/Food Scrap Subscription Program.

Intergenerational Lawn Mowing Referral Program
For Arlington Heights seniors and/or disabled persons looking for help with lawn mowing, the Village has an Intergenerational (students, adults aged 60+, and adults with disabilities) Lawn Mowing Program, which is a referral program. Upon request, the Arlington Heights Senior Center will provide a list of students who have signed up to mow lawns for Arlington Heights residents, age 60 and over or Arlington Heights residents who have a disability. Students, Older Adults and Adults with disabilities, must submit a signed referral request form to the Arlington Heights Senior Center. The resident will then contact the student to make arrangements, such as areas to be mowed, date/time to mow, costs, and payment arrangements.

Please note that the Village does not do background checks on any of the participants, students,  or senior citizens or persons with disabilities.  Both parties should do their own interview and/or reference check, if desired.

Please submit either a Student/Teen application if you are willing and able to help, or submit a Senior/Disabled resident application if you are in need of help.  Applications are also available via email to Tracey Colagrossi, Arlington Heights Senior Center Manager, or in person at the Arlington Heights Senior Center located at 1801 W. Central Road.
