The Village of Arlington Heights is accepting applications for the position of full-time Disability & Senior Social Worker in the Health & Human Services Department.
Under general supervision, the Disability & Senior Social Worker is responsible for the delivery of clinical and technical services to individuals with disabilities, seniors and the general population. Acts as the Village’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator and as a technical expert on accessibility laws including the ADA, Illinois Accessibility Code, Fair Housing Amendments, Section 504 and other pertinent laws and ordinances.
Provides direct service to residents including clinical assessment, case management, financial assistance, crisis intervention and therapeutic services. Acts as a community resource on disability issues and concerns. Ability to provide resources and assist residents in accessing local, State and Federal benefits, programs and services. Investigates accessibility complaints and works to resolve such complaints.
Qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university and three years of direct clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Gerontology concentration and Disability Social Work experience required. Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Social Worker through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation preferred. Certified in Americans with Disabilities Act and Home Modification within six months of hire. Must have a valid Illinois Driver License.

Pump Operator Water & Sewer/Utilities | Public Works Department
The Village of Arlington Heights is accepting applications for the position of Pump Operator in the Water & Sewer/Utilities division in the Public Works Department.
Responsibilities include monitoring water quality and performing unskilled to highly skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of the Village’s water and sewer systems. This position ensures compliance with requirements set forth in the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Act for drinking water.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with two or more years in basic water operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
This position requires the candidate to obtain and maintain within one year of employment, an I.E.P.A. Class C Water Operator License. Also, ability to become certified and/or maintain certification for presence/absence Bac-T analysis within two years of hire. Additional requirements include possession of a valid Illinois Commercial Driver’s License Class A with hazmat, tanker and air brake endorsements or ability to obtain within one year of hire. CEU annual credit requirement necessary for maintenance of Class C Water Operator License.
Additional Requirement: Candidates must also be able to respond to emergency call outs on a 24 hours basis and make judgements about the Village’s response. Carrying a Village phone and 30-minute response time is required. Employees will work a non-traditional work schedule to include working a standard number of work hours on an assigned rotating shift basis. Participates in snow and ice control operations.

Fire Safety Inspector | Building & Life Safety Department
The Village of Arlington Heights is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Fire Safety Inspector in the Building & Life Safety Department.
Responsibilities include on-site inspections of Village buildings, structures, and systems for compliance with fire and life safety codes as part of Village programs and construction permits. Tracks and follows up with non-compliant issues to obtain compliance.
This position is responsible for witnessing tests of fire safety systems including fire sprinkler, fire suppression, fire alarm and smoke control. Responds to incidents of hazard that require investigative inspections for building, fire, and life safety. Would be responsible to issue citations for adjudication or court. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with property owners, occupants, and the public to achieve fire prevention goals.
Minimum qualifications include extensive technical or specialized training such as an Associates Degree or two years of technical or business school and four to six years of experience in fire protection design, inspections, and project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Certified by ICC as a Fire Inspector I or NFPA as as Certified Fire Inspector I or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Certified as a school inspector by the Office of the State Fire Marshall is preferred. Ability to perform inspections and/or related duties after regular work hours as required. Must have a valid Illinois Driver License.

Administrative Service Officer II | Police Department
The Village of Arlington Heights is accepting applications for Administrative Service Officer II in the Police Department.
Responsibilities may include performing a range of purchasing and accounting duties required to maintain centralized purchasing functions servicing the Police Department. Supports administrative roles such as training, accreditation, policy development and grant management. Assists in managing administrative projects, software systems, fiscal control and detailed record keeping. Tracks hours worked for payroll processing, including overtime, special detail, family medical leave act, military leave and on-duty injuries. Produces monthly, annual and special reports as required.
Minimum qualifications include Associate’s degree or two years college course-work, including courses in accounting preferred.
