Information about Sounds of Summer Concert Series
Where can I park?
The Village offers 10 parking lots, including several parking garages, all within a few minutes walk from Harmony Park. Sounds of Summer concerts draw large crowds and the Vail Street garage can fill up. If your regular parking spot is full - try one of our many nearby options!

Please note that private business lots shown on the map do not permit Alfresco or Sounds of Summer parking and violators are subject to being towed.

Am I allowed to bring alcohol?
Alcohol is not allowed in Harmony Park. Alcohol purchased from local restaurants must be consumed within that restaurant's limits.

Can I bring food?
Yes! You can bring food to enjoy or you can order food from a nearby restaurant! We just ask that you please help to keep Harmony Park clean by properly disposing of your garbage.

Are dogs allowed in Harmony Park?
Dogs are not allowed in Harmony Park. Due to crowds and loud sound, the Village asks that you please keep your pets at home, to help keep everyone safe.

What is your policy regarding weather or rain outs?
Sounds of Summer is a rain or shine event. It will only be cancelled if there is a strong chance of thunderstorms or potentially dangerous storms including wind, however light rain will not cause cancellation. Weather will be monitored by Village staff and updates will be posted on our Facebook Page

When can I save seats for a Sounds of Summer concert?
Saving of seats with blankets may begin as early as 2 p.m., however items placed prior to 2 p.m. will be removed. Items removed may be recovered in the lost & found bin behind the stage. The Village is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Why can't I save seats overnight or early in the morning?
Harmony Park is a public park that must remain accessible for general public use. Unfortunately, the practice of saving of seats for Sounds of Summer has expanded over the years, and people have been leaving blankets overnight, or early in the morning. This practice has harmed the grass in Harmony Park, causing dead patches throughout the season. Additionally, necessary park maintenance and the stage delivery process requires staff to walk the lawn area where blankets had previously been set up. It is for these reasons that saving of seats will begin at 2 p.m. moving forward.

Sounds of Summer 2024: Thursday Nights, June through August
At the Village Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, January 16th, the Village Board approved staff recommendation to adjust the 2024 Sounds of Summer event schedule. The previous event series schedule would begin bands in mid-June, on Thursdays and Fridays, with the last concert taking place on the last Friday of July. The 2024 event season will adjust this lineup structure. Concerts will take place on Thursday nights, June 6th through August 29th.

The new structure expands the length of the season from 6 weeks to 12 weeks, and is intended to help draw crowds to downtown Arlington Heights on Thursday nights, from June through August. This recommendation was made as a result of feedback from Village Board Members seeking alternative dates for the event, in efforts to help draw crowds to downtown on non-Friday nights. The Arlington Economic Business Alliance, consisting of local business owners, unanimously approved the recommendation before it was brought to the Village Board. Staff also introduced the concept at a meeting with the downtown Arlington Heights HOA board representatives in 2023, and consulted with the Downtown Arlington Heights Business Alliance group about the possibility of the lineup change, in October 2023.
