Village Departments
Departments
The Arlington Heights Village Board consists of eight Village Trustees and one Mayor (or Village President) who are elected at large and serve four-year terms. They have been elected to oversee the city budget, establish strategic priorities, and set policies. Their policy decisions not only drive the day-to-day efforts of the Village in achieving excellent service delivery, but also serve as a guide toward the initiatives and efforts that bring about meaningful improvements to the community.
The Village Manager is the Village’s chief administrative officer, appointed by the Village Board to oversee all day-to-day operations of the Village. The Village Manager is responsible for providing overall direction to Departments and to oversee the execution of policies and programs established by the Village Board. A key focus of the Village Manager is to ensure that Departments are responsive and responsible in delivering exceptional service to the community and its needs.
