Project Description
Village streets selected for this program are in the beginning stages of deterioration. This maintenance program is intended to extend the life of the street. Intermittent curb and sidewalk are removed and replaced and the street is milled and resurfaced

Construction Sequence
Wave 1 is sequence order 1-19 (green). The contractors will complete it in numerical order from 1-19 (south to north).

2024 Project Updates
Landscape restoration is anticipated to be completed for sequences 1 & 2, where applicable, the week of April 29, weather permitting.
If your driveway access was affected, please note that if barricades and tape have been removed below your driveway apron, and stone has been placed in the gaps, you may access your driveway. Please do not park on the street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. so the contractor can complete the necessary work for the day.
All roadways being resurfaced will still be accessible to traffic.
Additionally, the contractor will be milling the surface in preparation for paving, starting Monday, April 22. All roadways being resurfaced will still be accessible to traffic. Please do not park on the street until construction is concluded. The Contractor plans on moving south to north in sequence 1 for the week of April 22. Please refer to the sequence sheet for additional updates.
If your driveway access was affected, you may now access your driveway only if the barricades and tape were removed, and stone has been placed in the gaps.
The contractor plans to complete the landscaping restoration associated with the concrete work weather permitting, the week of April 22.
Sequence 1
- Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on site tentatively on Monday, April 15, removing concrete on the even side of the street. Following removals, they will pour concrete curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and driveways. The residents who will have their driveway access removed will receive an additional notice so they can park their cars on the street before removal.
- Residents who will have their driveway access removed will receive an additional notice to park their cars on the street before removal.
- Your construction notice shall act as a parking pass. If more than one vehicle requires a parking pass, please photocopy the sheet and present it on the dashboard. The police department has been notified and you will not be ticketed.
Sequence 2
- Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete has a tentative start date of Friday, April 12, to remove curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and driveways on the odd side of the street. Please refer to the sequence sheet for the streets that will be affected. Note, that not all streets will be removed in sequence 2.
- Residents who will have their driveway access removed will receive an additional notice to park their cars on the street before removal.
- Your construction notice shall act as a parking pass. If more than one vehicle requires a parking pass, please photocopy the sheet and present it on the dashboard. The police department has been notified and you will not be ticketed.
Sequence 1
Due to the weather, the contractor has pushed back removals to the week of April 8. If you received a driveway access notice for the week of April 1 please disregard. You will be receiving a new notice at the end of the week if your access will be affected.

Sequence 2

- Residents who will have their driveway removed will receive an additional notice to park their cars on the street before removal.
- Your construction notice shall act as a parking pass. If more than one vehicle requires a parking pass, please photo copy the sheet and present it on the dashboard. The police department has been notified and you will not be ticketed.
Sequence 1
Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on site tentatively on Monday, April 1 removing the curb and gutter, sidewalks, and driveways. Please refer to the sequence spreadsheet for more information on specific locations. Residents who will have their driveway access removed will receive an additional notice to park their cars on the street before removal.
Sequence 2
Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on site tentatively, on Monday, April 1 saw cutting the concrete sidewalk and curb.
When removals occur your Construction notice shall act as a parking pass. If more than one vehicle needs a parking pass, please photocopy the sheet and present it on the dashboard. The police department has been notified and you will not be ticketed.
2023 Project Updates
The landscape restoration is tentative to begin this week or next for all lawns that were disturbed. The lawn adjacent to sidewalks, driveways, and curb will get new topsoil & seed. The larger sections of lawn that need regrading near the sidewalk corner ramps will receive new top soil & sod. Weather permitting, the contractors will be working on the following streets this week:
- Elm St (Kennicott Ave to Walnut Ave) – DeVinci Construction will be adjusting the manholes in the pavement early next week.
- Oakton St (Kennicott Ave to Wilke Rd) – DeVinci Construction will be adjusting the manholes in the pavement early next week.
- Towne Blvd (Schoenbeck Rd to West End) – Builders Paving will finish removing the top 3 inches off the pavement this week, and will pave the first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt.
- Hackberry Dr (Kennicott Ave to Burr Oak Dr) – Builders Paving will pave the first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt by the end of the week.
- Tanglewood Dr (Kennicott Ave to Burr Oak Dr) – Builders Paving will finish paving the first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt on Tuesday, May 9th or Wednesday, May 10th.
- Kingsley Dr (Schaefer Rd to Harvard Ave) - Builders Paving will grind the top 3 inches off the pavement by the end of this week.
- Weston Dr (Schaefer Rd to Kingsley Dr) - Builders Paving will grind the top 3 inches off the pavement by the end of this week.
For Construction the week of April 24th to April 28th

The Village Public Works Department will paint temporary parking stalls on Vail Ave on both sides of the street. The permanent white thermoplastic pavement marks will be done in the summer or fall.
- Cedar Glen Ln (Embers Ln to Algonquin Rd) – Builders Paving will be paving the first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt on the road on Tuesday, April 25th.
- Belmont Ave (Central Rd to White Oak St) – Builders Paving will be paving the first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt on the road on Wednesday, April 26th or Thursday, April 27th.
- Magnolia Ave (Arlington Heights Rd to Douglas Ave) – Builders Paving will be paving the first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt on the road on Wednesday, April 26th or Thursday, April 27th
- Pine Ave (Central Rd to Lincoln St) – Builders Paving will be paving the first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt on the road on Wednesday, April 26th or Thursday, April 27th
- Park St (Arlington Heights Rd to Dryden Pl) – Builders Paving will be paving the first 1 ½ inch of layer of asphalt on the road on Thursday, April 27th.
- Evanston Ave (Grove St to Gregory St) – Builders Paving will be paving the first 1 ½ inch of layer of asphalt on the road on Thursday, April 27th, or Friday, April 28th.
- Elm St (Kennicott Ave to Walnut Ave) – Builders Paving will be grinding the remaining half of the street on Monday, April 24th and could pave the first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt on Friday, April 28th.
- Salem Ave (Elm St to Cul-de-sac) – Builders Paving could pave the first 1 ½ inch of layer of asphalt on the road on Friday, April 28th.
- Oakton St (Kennicott Ave to Wilke Rd) – Builders Paving will grind the road on Monday, April 24th and finish Tuesday, April 25th. The first 1 ½ inch layer of asphalt could be paved the following week.
- Burgoyne Rd (Marion Rd to Harvard Ave) – Builders Paving will grind the road on Tuesday, April 25th or Wednesday, April 26th.
- Marion Rd (Yale Ave to Kennicott Ave) - Builders Paving will grind the road on Tuesday, April 25th or Wednesday, April 26th.
- Salem Blvd (Thomas St to Kennicott Ave) - Builders Paving will grind the road on Tuesday, April 25th or Wednesday, April 26th.
- Chestnut Ave (Rand Rd to Walnut Ave) – Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on the street cleaning up the wooden frames and pouring gravel in front of driveways, and next to new sidewalk to provide residents with driveway access.
- Waverly Ct (Chestnut Ave to West End) - Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on the street cleaning up the wooden frames and pouring gravel in front of driveways, and next to new sidewalk to provide residents with driveway access.
- Towne Blvd (Schoenbeck Rd to West End) – Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on the street to pour the concrete on the remaining curb near the storm sewers and the other half of the curb through driveways at the dead end on Monday, April 24th. They will be cleaning up wooden frames and pouring gravel in front of driveways to provide residents with driveway access.
- Hackberry Dr (Kennicott Ave to Burr Oak Dr) - Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on the street to clean up wooden frames and pour gravel in front of driveways on the south side of the street to provide residents with driveway access.
- Tanglewood Dr (Kennicott Ave to Burr Oak Dr) - Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on the street to clean up wooden frames and pour gravel in front of driveways on the south side of the street to provide residents with driveway access.

Weather permitting, the contractor will be working on the following streets this week:
- Cedar Glen Ln (Embers Ln to Algonquin Rd) – Builders Paving will be on the street on Monday, April 17 to grind the street down 3 inches. The road will still be accessible to traffic. Builders Paving has posted “No Parking” signs on both sides of the street, so residents are asked to park on their driveways and not the street Monday to Friday during construction hours. DeVinci Construction will be on the street later in the week to work on the adjustments to the storm sewers on the street.
- Belmont Ave (Central Rd to White Oak St) – Builders Paving will be on the street on Tuesday, April 18 or Wednesday, April 19 to grind the street down 3 inches. The road will still be accessible to traffic. Builders Paving will post “No Parking” signs on both sides of the street, so residents are asked to park on their driveways and not the street Monday to Friday during construction hours. DeVinci Construction will be on the street later in the week to work on the adjustments to the storm sewers on the street.

- Chestnut Ave (Walnut Ave to Rand Rd) - Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will finish pouring the rest of the remaining concrete on Tuesday, April 18 or Wednesday, April 19.
- Waverly Ct (Chestnut Ave to Cul-de-sac) - Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will finish pouring the rest of the remaining concrete on Tuesday, April 18 or Wednesday, April 19.
- Weston Dr (Schafer Rd to Kingsley Dr) – Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on the street to remove the concrete on the south side of the street on Monday, April 17. The concrete pour is scheduled to start on April 18 or April 19. The residents on the north side of the street have access to their driveway.
- Kingsley Dr (Weston Dr to Harvard Ave) - Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on the street to remove the concrete on the south side of the street on Monday, April 17. The concrete pour is scheduled to start on April 18 or April 19. The residents on the north side of the street have access to their driveway.
- Tanglewood Dr (Kennicott Ave to Burr Oak Dr) - Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on the street to remove the concrete on the south side of the street on Monday, April 17. The concrete pour is scheduled to start on April 18 or April 19. The residents on the north side of the street have access to their driveway.

The concrete removal for the west side of the street is tentative for this week, depending on the weather. Residents on the east side will receive an additional notice when they are able to park their vehicles on their driveway. The contractor DeVinci Construction will be adjusting the storm sewers in the curb on Monday, April 3rd or Tuesday, April 4th.
- Belmont Ave (Central Rd to White Oak St) – DeVinci Construction will be on the street either Monday or Tuesday this week to adjust the storm sewers on the curb. Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will pour the concrete around the storm sewers this week.

- Pine Ave (Central Rd to Lincoln St) - Schroeder & Schroder Concrete will be on site on Monday, April 3rd pouring the remaining sidewalk, curbs, and concrete driveway aprons. DeVinci Construction will be on the street either Monday or Tuesday this week to adjust the storm sewers on the curb. Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will pour the concrete around the storm sewers this week.
- Park St (Arlington Heights Rd to Dryden Pl) - Schroeder & Schroder Concrete will be on site on Monday, April 3rd to pour the concrete on the curb. DeVinci Construction will be on the street either Monday or Tuesday this week to adjust the storm sewers on the curb. Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will pour the concrete around the storm sewers this week.
- Evanston Ave (Grove St to Gregory St) – Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will be on site Monday, April 3rd and Tuesday April, 4th to pour the concrete on the west side of the street. DeVinci Construction is tentative to be on the street towards the end of the week to adjust the storm sewers.
- Elm St (Kennicott Ave to Walnut Ave) – Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will finish the concrete removal on this street on Monday, April 3rd. The residents that will lose their driveway access were notified on Friday, March 31st to park their vehicles on adjacent streets. The concrete pour for this street is tentative for Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather.
- Salem Ave (Elm St to Cul-de-sac) - Schroeder & Schroeder Concrete will finish the concrete removal on this street on Monday, April 3rd. The residents that will lose their driveway access were notified on Friday, March 31st to park their vehicles on adjacent streets. The concrete pour for this street is tentative for Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather.

There will be concrete and gravel poured in the gaps between the curb and the road so that residents are able to drive in their driveway again. All the wood frames and debris will be cleaned up this week.

The residents that will lose their driveway access will be notified 24-48 hours prior to the concrete removal operation.
