Arlington Heights Road

Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is hosting a Virtual Public Forum regarding improvements to Arlington Heights Road from Lake-Cook Road to IL 83/McHenry Road. The purpose of this virtual public involvement activity is to gather public input on the project corridor. The public comment period begins on Thursday, January 28, 2021 and will be open for comments through Thursday, February 25, 2021. To learn more about the project and provide input, click here.

LCDOT is studying potential improvements to approximately 1.5 miles of Arlington Heights Road in the villages of Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, and Arlington Heights. While there are no plans to widen Arlington Heights Road as part of this project, this is an opportunity for LCDOT to make safety and operational improvements to the corridor, such as adding turn lanes or closing sidewalk gaps. LCDOT has just begun planning for the project and no final plans are being considered right now.

The project website will introduce the project to the public through text, videos, and exhibits. There will be an interactive map with comment forms (with instructional videos) for the public to submit comments, issues, concerns, and ideas about the Arlington Heights Road corridor. The comments will be tracked and become part of the formal public involvement process. The information gathered through this process will assist the project team during the design.

The virtual public forum will be accessible to persons with disabilities. Anyone in need of special assistance or printed materials should contact Darrell Kuntz, P.E., Project Manager, at (847) 377-7459 or dkuntz@lakecountyil.gov.
