The Village of Arlington Heights is seeking high school aged students to serve one year terms as volunteers on the Village's Youth Commission. This opportunity provides youth members with first-hand experience with local government and may be used for college applications and resumes. 

The Youth Commission's goal is to help provide recommendations to the Village Board on matters pertaining to the welfare of the youth of the Village and to promote youth programs.

Regular meetings of the Youth Commission are held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.  Seven members constitute a quorum. 

Youth Commissioners should be high school aged, residents of Arlington Heights, and attending a public or private school that serves Arlington Heights residents.

The Youth Commission consists of 13 members, including six adult members and seven youth members appointed by the Village President with consent of the Village Board for three-year terms, with high school students serving one-year. Members are to include a staff member from District 214 or District 25, a Park District representative, and a representative of the Police Department. The adult members shall be residents or employed within the Village in a professional capacity relating to youth work.
