Road construction season will soon get under way in Arlington Heights after the Village Board's approval of the contract for the Street Reconstruction & Rehabilitation Program. The Street Resurfacing Program, which typically involves more Village streets than Reconstruction & Rehabilitation Program, is expected to be bid later this spring.
A contract in the amount of $3.58 million was awarded to Arrow Road Construction Company for 2.23 miles of streets included in the 2019 MFT (motor fuel tax) Street Reconstruction Program & Street Rehabilitation Program. This work is being funded by the Village’s share of the State’s Motor Fuel Taxes (MFT) and General Funds for Capital Improvements.
The Village's annual Street Reconstruction and Street Rehabilitation program includes three different types of construction: reconstruction, rehabilitation and street widening. These different types of construction are further explained here.
Residents living on streets slated for the Street Reconstruction & Street Rehabilitation Program should have already received a mailed letter providing general information about construction. Additionally, an informational meeting will be held at Village Hall in the Board Room on Thursday, April 4. A brief presentation will begin at 6 p.m. followed by an open house with Village staff available to answer questions until 8 p.m.
Residents living within the project limits will receive hand delivered notices prior to construction beginning on their street and throughout the various phases of the road project. Furthermore, you can sign up to receive emails on last-minute updates and schedule changes for this project.
We recognize this work is disruptive to your neighborhood, therefore please take the time to review general information about the Street Reconstruction & Street Rehabilitation on our Construction 411 page.
