Enjoy a scenic bike ride through Arlington Heights on Saturday, September 7, 2019 by participating in the Bike Arlington Heights Community Bike Ride! Riders will leave from North School Park at 9:15 a.m. with route guidance from members of the Arlington Heights Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission and the Arlington Heights Police Department's bike patrol.

The ride begins with a five-mile round trip loop from North School Park to South Middle School. The ride then continues with a seven-mile round trip loop from North School Park to Thomas Middle School, starting at 10 a.m. Riders will have the option to complete both loops for a total of 12 miles, or either one individually. All rides start and end at North School Park.

The main goals of the ride are to encourage safe alternatives to driving for residents, community awareness, and health and fitness. The theme of this ride is "Ride to the Schools", and it will demonstrate that safe routes exist for riding bicycles to local schools.

If you are not able to ride to the park, there is car parking available in the North Garage. Please be sure to eat a good breakfast before the ride, fill up your bike tires, put on sunscreen, bring a water bottle, and wear a helmet!

The event also includes bicycle mechanical assistance, water and snacks. All riders are asked to wear a helmet and to be familiar with the rules of the road and basic bicycle operation.

To participate, please register using the links below. Day-of registration will open at 8 a.m. the day of the ride.
