While warmer weather is on the horizon, the Arts Commission is calling artists to participate in "The Beauty of the Winter Season" banner program. The program provides an opportunity for local artists to display their artwork on street pole banners throughout Arlington Heights!

To be considered for the program, images should feature a winter theme, and must be high resolution files of original artwork such as paintings, drawings, photographs, etc.

Any group, organization or person desiring to have their artwork displayed on an Arlington Heights banner pole in the downtown area must submit an application and preliminary art to the Arts Commission by Oct. 1, 2019. If the design is approved, final artwork will be due by Nov. 15, 2019.

Final artwork must be submitted in a high-resolution file such as a JPEG, PNG or TIFF format with at least 300 DPI to be displayed in full size of 25 by 72 inches.

Materials deemed as promoting products, sales, advertising companies or viewed as soliciting will be rejected.

All chosen artwork will be displayed in the downtown area (Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway) for a duration of approximately three months. Banners will be judged by a committee of two arts commissioners and one nonparticipating local artist. Awards will be given for first, second and third place.
