The Village’s Plan Commission held a public hearing on September 22, 2021 to consider a proposal by Shelter Inc., for a shelter care home at 207-209 E Valley Lane. After the public hearing portion was closed, the Plan Commission deliberated and the motion (vote) to approve the project resulted in a 4-4 tie. As a result, no recommendation was made. Pursuant to Village Code, the Plan Commission has 30 days to forward a recommendation to the Village Board, and therefore the Plan Commission will again consider this project at their October 20, 2021 public meeting, at 7:30 p.m. It is anticipated that all nine Plan Commission members will be present. 

Due to concerns about social distancing and the potential number of meeting attendees, this meeting will be hosted virtually to allow all residents wishing to participate or comment, the ability to do so.  Members of the public wishing to participate or provide public comment are encouraged to do so by following these directions:

It should be noted that the public hearing concerning this application was held by the Plan Commission on September 22nd, 2021, and that the public hearing is now closed. Accordingly, no new evidence or testimony on this application can be considered by the Plan Commission and public comments will only be allowed after the Plan Commission has finalized their vote. If members of the public would like to submit a comment to be read at the October 20th meeting, they can submit an email to [email protected] by 3 p.m. on October 20.  Please limit your email to 200 words.
