The Health and Human Services Department at the Village of Arlington Heights, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, accepts compact florescent lights, eyeglasses, ink cartridges, cellphones, plastic bags, mercury thermometers, and thermostats during regular business hours. The Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road, accepts plastic bags and sharps disposal during regular business hours.  Please call 847-253-5532 for more information.

The Arlington Heights Police Station, 200 E. Sigwalt St., accepts prescription and over the counter medications in the entrance of the building.  Please call 847-368-5300 for more information.

The Public Works Department, 222 N. Ridge Avenue, accepts plastic bags during regular business hours.  They also accept holiday lights November-February only.  Please call 847-368-5800 for more information.

No commercial, institutional, or school generated materials accepted.

White Goods 
Groot will collect refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washers, dryers, dishwashers, hot water tanks, dehumidifiers and other white goods once a week at no extra cost. Residents must call Groot at 800.244.1977 to schedule a collection of white goods. Items should not be placed at the curb until the evening before the scheduled collection.

Electronic Waste
Certain items are prohibited from being disposed of in landfills. Groot will collect, at the curb, up to 2 electronic items per week at no additional fee. To schedule a curbside collection of electronics, call Groot at 800.244.1977.
