Landscape Waste & Food Scrap Program
The Village's 2024 Landscape Waste Collection season is April 1 - December 15. Residents have several options regarding the disposal of landscape waste. Groot offers using the Landscape Sticker Program for individual bags of yard waste, or the option to participate in the Landscape Waste Subscription, or the Landscape Waste/Food Scrap Subscription Program.

Landscape Waste Sticker Program
Residents can purchase landscape waste stickers from local retailers and apply the stickers to bags or bundles of landscape waste. The stickers are $2.70 each. Stickers are available for purchase at:
Special Collections 2024
- Free Spring Bag/Bundle Collection
On the third landscape waste collection week in April. The 2024 Spring Collection Dates are April 15, 16, 18, and 19th. Groot will collect from each household, five unstickered landscape waste bags or bundles. - Leaf Collection 2024
The Village's Fall Leaf 2 for 1 collection runs from October 14th through December 13th, 2024. Residents may place 2 bags for every 1 sticker at curbs to be collected on their normal collection day. - Holiday Tree Recycling 2024
Holiday trees will be collected on your solid waste collection day from December 30, 2024 - January 10, 2025. Landscape waste stickers are not necessary for trees. Plastic bags and all décor must be removed from trees.

Groot offers customers the below additional collection subscriptions for an additional fee, including the Landscape Waste Subscription Program and the Food Scrap Subscription Program, that also allows for landscape waste collection. Residents may subscribe to this program, which allows five (5) unstickered bags or bundles per week, April 1 - December 13, 2024. For fall leaves collected between October 16 - December 15, up to ten (10) unstickered bags or bundles per week may be placed at the curb for collection. Food scraps are not permitted with this subscription program. The April 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025 rate is $146.39.

Arlington Heights residents may participate in food waste composting by subscribing to the 95 or 65-gallon program, which runs from April to mid-December. Residents must subscribe for service by calling Groot at 800.244.1977. The Food Scrap Subscription Program also allows residents to utilize carts for Landscape Waste.
