Residential Energy Assessment
ComEd customers have opportunities to reduce energy usage with a free energy assessment that includes free and discounted products for your home. ComEd has partnered with your natural gas utility to bring electric and natural gas savings to you. Owners of single-family homes, two-flats, condos and townhomes are eligible. Some three and four unit buildings may be eligible. Renters in these building types are also eligible, with permission from their landlord. Property Owner Energy Assessment
ComEd customers have opportunities to reduce energy usage with a free energy assessment that includes free products for tenant spaces. ComEd has partnered with your natural gas utility to bring electric and natural gas savings to you. Tenants who live in multi-family residences are encouraged to let their landlord or property manager know about the multi-family energy savings opportunities offered by ComEd, Nicor Gas, North Shore Gas, and Peoples Gas. Once the property is enrolled and a free assessment is completed, trained technicians will install free energy-saving products throughout the tenant spaces. Nicor Gas energySMART Resources

energySMART Energy Efficiency Loans for Homeowners
Financing is available to eligible Nicor customers to cover the cost of energy efficiency equipment and improvements in their homes. Installments on this loan are applied to their monthly Nicor Gas bills. The loan included entails a 5.74% fixed interest rate with 36, 60, or 120-month loan terms. Loans range from $500 to $20,000 with 100% percent financing available to cover equipment costs, installation, and related services. New homeowners are eligible and no home equity is required. Income-Qualifying Programs

energySMART Nicor Gas Free Initiatives for Customers
A new free energy kit is now available for all Nicor Gas customers which includes one or two low-flow showerheads, two bathroom faucet aerators, one dual-spray kitchen faucet aerator, and plumber’s tape. The program will also include a free energy assessment along with free weatherization for income-qualifying customers. Learn more about the free weatherization program. 

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program assists eligible low-income households pay for home energy services including direct vendor payment or a once-a-year grant for customers who currently have service. Eligibility and the amount of grants depend on household size and the last 30 days of gross household income prior to filing an application. The percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) is available for LIHEAP eligible households who are customers of one of the following utilities: Ameren Illinois, ComEd, Nicor Gas and Peoples Gas/North Shore Gas. Share the Warmth
Share the Warmth provides heating grants to limited and fixed-income households. Eligible customers who make a payment toward their bills receive matching grants of up to $200. Peoples Gas customers who are having trouble paying their bills and meet the household income guidelines may be eligible for a grant. Learn more about the Peoples Gas Share the Warmth program.

Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program
IHWAP assists low income homeowners in conserving fuel and reducing energy costs by making their homes and apartments more energy efficient. . There is a maximum of $7,500 per eligible client’s home for energy-related weatherization and repair work. 

Weatherization Assistance Program/Multi-family Weatherization Assistance Program
The Community and Economic Development Association (CEDA) leads a bevy of programs available to help low- and fixed-income customers with weatherproofing projects. These projects will provide eligible households with home energy audits, insulation installation and weatherization services.
