Street Rehabilitation
Streets selected for rehabilitation are at a stage of deterioration where the curb and gutter is no longer functioning properly but the main part of the street is still in fair condition and no subbase failure is observed. All curb and gutter is removed and replaced, and a street patch is placed in front of the new curb and gutter. The entire street is then milled and resurfaced. This project may require grade changes and therefore, all driveway approaches are completely removed and replaced from the sidewalk to the curb. This program also includes intermittent sidewalk and drainage structure repair.
Street Reconstruction
Streets selected for reconstruction are at a stage of deterioration where the curb and gutter is no longer functioning properly, there is failure of the street's subbase and the main part of the street is in poor condition.
Streets listed for this program will have the entire street removed down to the subgrade, including curb and gutter. The curb and gutter is installed and the new street is replaced with asphalt. This project may also require grade changes, so the driveway approaches are completely removed and replaced from the sidewalk to the curb. Additionally, intermittent sidewalk will be removed and replaced and intermittent drainage structures will be repaired or replaced.
Street Widening
Streets are widened when the existing width does not meet the minimum Village standard, and there is enough right-of-way to complete the widening. New curb and gutter is installed, and the street is patched from the existing edge of pavement to the proposed curb and gutter. The remaining portion of the street is milled and resurfaced. Grade changes are necessary for this project. Consequently, driveway approaches are removed and replaced. This project also includes intermittent sidewalk and drainage structure repair.
