State Call Center for Vaccination Appointment Help
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) launched the Vaccine Appointment Call Center to assist people who do not have access to or who have difficulty navigating online services in making appointments to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The Vaccine Appointment Call Center is open 7 days a week at 833-621-1284.
Call agents will help individuals who do have access to online services navigate the various registration sites. However, if the individual does not have access to online services or is unable to navigate the site, the agent will make an appointment on their behalf.

Emergency Mortgage Assistance Available Through State Program
In late August, Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Housing Development Authority announced a $150 million Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program, designed to help eligible homeowners struggling to make mortgage payments due to the pandemic.
Funds are limited so complete your application as soon as possible. Only one application per household is allowed and an application is not a guarantee of assistance. There is no charge for applying for this program.
If you are approved, you will receive a grant of up to $15,000 that will be sent to your servicer to be applied against your mortgage. You may receive less than $15,000.
Emergency Rental Assistance Program
Do you live in Suburban Cook County and need help paying rent and utilities due to COVID-19? The Cook County Emergency Rental Assistance program pays up to 12 months of missed rent and utilities payments and up to 3 months of future rent payments. Payments will be made directly to your landlord and utility company. Applications open in early March 2021. Apply at www.cookcountyil.gov
Illinois Rental Payment Program (ILRPP) *
The Illinois Department of Human Services is offering emergency rental assistance through a rental payment program, The Illinois Rental Payment Program (ILRPP). This program can provide up to $25,000 in emergency rental assistance.
Applicants are eligible for up to 15 months of assistance. The grant can cover the past due rent from the previous 12 months and future rental assistance for the next three months, if deemed necessary. The emergency rental assistance is provided by the Federal government and is free to tenant and housing provider. If approved, the grant will be paid to the housing provider in the form of a check. Applications will be available on May 17, 2021 through the Illinois Department of Human Services.
The Illinois Housing Development Authority has finished reviewing all 70,000 completed Illinois Rental Payment Program applications from the landlord-initiated phase that was open from May 17 – June 13, 2021.

Arlington Heights Senior Center
The Arlington Heights Senior Center remains closed to the public until further notice, with a limited number of essential services for seniors continuing. Currently phones are being answered Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM at 847-253-5532. Please call for more information.

Catholic Charities Community Development and Outreach (food service) is accessible by phone at 847-797-5350. Catholic Charities Northwest Senior Services (Case Coordination Unit) is available by telephone and email. Their telephone number is 847-253-5500.

There will be no Meals on Wheels (Home Delivered Meals) deliveries between March 23 and March 31. During this interim, clients are to use the pack shelf stable meal boxes already delivered. Deliveries are expected to resume Wednesday, April 1 with one delivery each week of either five pack frozen, shelf stable meals or a mix of both.
Starting Thursday, March 26, Catholic Charities will be handing out packaged meals at the senior center’s front door on Thursdays between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Currently there is a limit of 2-3 meals per person.
Shopping for Senior Citizens
As a reminder for our Senior community, those with disabilities, and those that are especially vulnerable, some stores have designated hours for these shoppers amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Contact your local grocery store or visit your grocery store website to find out more about the hours exclusively reserved for seniors and those with disabilities and/or vulnerabilities.

Scholarships for Park District programs are available for families who qualify based on household income and family size. This discount covers two programs per session for each member of the family. In addition to classes, the scholarship may cover other activities, such as pool passes and summer camps. Residents can also apply for the Children At Play (C.A.P.) scholarship which provides financial support for before and after school programming. Our mental health program provides residents with a comprehensive assessment to connect individuals with the most appropriate level of care. We offer brief, strategic therapy, crisis intervention in collaboration with our first responders, and referrals to local providers. We also offer counseling subsidy in situations where cost is a barrier to residents receiving care.
